My book review!

My group for reading has just finnished this really cool book called When the war came home.
It is written by Sarah Ell , it is a very good book.
It is a book about how Auckland got hold of the influenza epidemic in November 1918 it was also the end of the first world war. Jimmy K's father went missing in action and he is worried his father maybe dead.
His mother, brothers and sisters end up going away to a farm house and he is left with no one but his uncle Rory. Jimmy is forced to find somewhere else to stay with his uncle Rory until the influenza epidemic has slowly started to fade away.

This is the bit from the back of the book.

It is Novemberm, 1918 the end
of the First World War, and an epidemic of
influenza is sweeping the city of Auckland.
Jimmy K's father is 'missing in action'.
Now his mother has taken his younger
brothers and sisters away to the country, and
thirteen year old jimmy is left with his uncle
to face the horrors of the epidemic.
But uncle Rory has a plan... and jimmy is swept along with his mysterious mission to
right a wrong from the trenches of France.

This book sounds really cool don't you think? I think this book is really cool and interesting, once I stated reading I couldn't stop, except for when I forgot to read a few chapters, but I read them.
If it was a rating out of 10 I would give it a 9. It was very wonderful.

This is the Cover of the book..

School athletics!

On Thursday 11th November we had our school athletics.
First the years 1&2 started off at Sprints and Long jump, the years 3&4 went to Discus, years 5&6's went to High jump and us year 7&8's went to Shot put.
I think I had come 3rd in shot put out of the year 8 girls I can't even remember. We rotated around so that we ended up at Discus and everyone else went to different ones aswell.
I think I came 4th in Discus, 1st in High Jump ,2nd in Long jump ,3rd shot put and 1st Middle distance for my year and 5th overall.
But we didn't get to finnish all of the athletics we ended up carrying on the next day us years 7&8's only had sprints to go.I come first out of the year 8 girls.
I liked the athletics days they were cool as we because we didn't have to do much work.

This is a photo of me doing shot put.

My name is Braxton and I am a New Zealand Maori.
Maori culture has been put out by the traditions of its cultural herritage , with an outward view of the challenges faced by indigenous peoples in a global society.
Moari's have been around in the land of Aotearoa for many of years.
We maori's have allsorts of foods we enjoy such as these,
Kai moana(sea food)
Boil up
Hangi
Ika(fish)

and there is many more I could name but nah.
Maori's have lots of waiata's(songs) I know and enjoy.

Cat and Mouse.

They meet again, cat and mouse.
Cat reaches for the mouse in an attempt to get rid of him but,
in a flash the mouse is gone.
It was as fast as a flash of lightning.
